Notes/Other Information
Daft Punk formed in 1993 as part of the French house movement, blending house with funk, disco, rock and synth-pop. They concealed their identities behind robot helmets from 1999, making only rare media appearances and becoming icons of electronic music culture (Daft Punk - Wikipedia, Give Life Back to Music - song and lyrics by Daft Punk | Spotify). Their breakthrough came with Homework (1997) and “One More Time” from Discovery (2001), leading to global fame and multiple Grammy wins for Random Access Memories (2013). They announced their split via the “Epilogue” video in February 2021 (Daft Punk Break Up). Their innovative use of sampling and performance art has left a lasting legacy on dance music worldwide.
